a friend of mine had a girlfriend in oversea and she had born him a child

anybody knows if he is able to bring the baby over to be brought up in singapore?

YES if they are legally married in Singapore. If he is already married in Singapore, dun do anything funny by bringing him in unless u wan free food and lodging by the government.

From your suggestion, I gather the following information
1) a girlfriend = not married
2) born him a child = baby born in foreign land (Not Singapore Citizenship)

If he wants to bring the child over;
1) he would need to get married in the foreign land.
2) he would be required to bring the original foreign marriage certificate and have it certified in Singapore.
3) he would be required to write to immigrations (ICA) and put the child over on a dependent pass and subsequently convert to Singapore Citizenship.

I agree but this procedure is going to take very long .... provided that this guy can easily find a $3K salary job in Singapore asap upon arrival of the child and most probably the fastest you can get in only a year .... if the guy has no records or watever ... meaning good person, good salary and contributes to society ...

can he still get married in foreign land if hez already married in singapore?

my friend is in singapore so no choice got to bring up in singapore...

It's illegal to remarry, whether here or overseas, when you're already married. The best he can do is send money over for the gf to bring the child up on her own, if he's sure the child is his. The extreme would be to divorce his current wife and then marry his gf - notice i use the word extreme!

My brother in similar situation........Married in sg....married a thai gal while working in thailand( not sure if married or juz gf). Now got 2 kids in thailand..........They probably try to do the same things that u wana do now.......

8 yrs had passed.......nothing happen......she still stay in thailand with the kids, my brother only visit them 4 or 5 times a year.
Reason* he simply got no case at all..........hes married in sg, watever u do in other country its not recognise........

maybe i should intro my brother to ur friend so they both can go land of smiles together.......haha
