I have no bookings on 23rd so should be in Pattaya but my schedule is not fixed so best PM or Tweet me before you arrive.

If you head to Bangkok on 27 Jan take note that their elections are on 2 Feb.

The prime minister has insisted that the polls will continue as scheduled but the Election Commission has advised for a postponement whilst the protesters are dead set against one.

Last night more violence again. A grenade thrown at the Bangkok gov's home. Small homemade bombs thrown at protesters. Yingluck is not bowing to their demands and they are getting impatient. The army has set up guard posts in several areas across the city presumably to "protect" the "people" aka protesters.

This Saturday is Armed Forces Day. Last week they rolled in the tanks on the pretext of Children's Day. Coup or not nobody is sure but if status quo maintains then protesters could get more violent on days leading up to the polls.
