No problem with your statment...:) but r u 100% sure the HIV test kit they use in UK is similar to the one in sg??

hmm.. also on the point that your friend was told to keep on testing for HIV for 3 years....not to doubt you.... but i really dont think DCS is so cockup..
i have been there many time for the check up since about 3 years back and was told eery time to use 3-6 month as a guideline. 3 month being 99.5% sure ... and 6 month to be 100% sure.. never was i told to continue to test for more than a year...

I remembered during 1998 when USA is using 6 months, sillypore is still using the old guidelines from 1985 which is 1 year. A friend of mine was told by dsc to keep testing until he show positive and eventually he kept on testing out to 3 years. Recently I've spoken to a volunteer in sillypore and they told me a 6 months test is necessary because asians have weaken immune thus take longer to produce antibodies.

The virus do not know where you stay so it doesn't matter where you get tested. The test equipment use here is exactly what they use in england, australia, hong ####, malaysia. A person testing in sillypore is not consider definitive at 3 months but his result is conclusive the moment he crosses the causeway to JB. For example, a british working in sillypore or a sillyporean working in new york, which guideline should they follow? So for people testing, it is just on who's opinion you value. whether sillypore or what the rest of the world is saying.

the test used are exactly what they use in UK and Netherlands.Anyone who been there for the test should recognised it.

Other lab test from singapore labs are 3rd generation elisas consist of the abbott AXSYM, PRISM or IMX..

Actually nothing in medical is 100% ..doctors will just tell u a test at 6 months is over 99% and u are damn safe. Weird things happens so there is no gurantee in anything.Throughout the 20 + years, there are only 2 cases of seroconverting after 3 months..1 at 9 months and another at 12 months..But these are Health Care Worker that kanna needle stick injuries..so even if a person is a odd case out of millions..a 6 months test is also not always gurantee safe.

http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/S...r/Q155156.html

I've checked with a specialist from John Hopkins University and was told that a 6 months test is necessary is the person is being put on PEP which are antiretroviral drugs to help prevent infection if a person has a high risk. those drugs might delayed seroconversion. The french scientist Luc Montaigner who isolate both strains of the virus stated that the longer seroconversion he ever seen is 77 days. Read the book "the man and the virus" c 1994.

Also read this article if interested. From the australian government. there are some interesting facts about the window period. On the bottom of the article.

Re: All you need to know about HIV

Hi all,

feeling paranoid over the past 2 days and finally went for the hiv test on Sat.
These two days have been the longest of my life. Wasn't able to concentrate in the office and thinking of a lot of things. Once I am back home, I would spend hours seaching for information on hiv and looking back if I had any obvious symptons back then.Btw, my last dangerous exposure was somewhere in Feb last year

It's really killing me as each second was like days, each minute was like months and each hour was like years to me. I was going insane. I realise that should the worst happened, it will be a situation that I cannot handle and definitely I will just break down.

Went up to the second floor, paid $20, fill up a form and waited. Meet up with angela and told her my dangerous encounters, 1 count of unprotected sex and 1 count of a condom breakage. Told her of my mental state is very unstable and it's killing me because this one test, the result will be conclusive, either it's a sure positive or a sure negativeve since I have fulfilled the window period. There is no more a second chance.

Got a small prick on the middle finger and drip a drop of blood on the test strip. Went back outside the waiting area, as I await my sentence to be passed on me. To me, it's already a fxxx feeling to be judged by others and I feel even worse when I know I may be put on death row within 10-15 minutes.

My number was called up! Time's up I guess, the moment of truth will soon befall on me. Will I be truly reborn or truly be gone. What am i going to tell my loved ones? Will I just break donw and go insane? These are some of the thoughts that went through my mind.

It's angela again and she told me, I am safe and I can step out of here and have a peace of my mind.

Life is already short so don't make it shorter,
Life is precious to lose to a damn virus.

My message to brothers, wear a condom before your didi go cheong in the public toilet since he wouldn't (and neither will you) know the type of enemy he encounter in the public toilet.

After this ordeal, a though came to me and say: why not let those newbies who wanted to start cheonging go through the hiv testing experience so that end of the day, they will be aware of the stress level they have to go through and the courage they have to muster to go for the test.

Only then will they be more clear of what they are getting themslves into the commercial sex scence. Just hope that it's not just joy, pleasure and your didi feels shiok that one is getting into when he goes into commercial sex, but also the stress and phobia that one has to cope as well. If you can't you would have gone insane while waiting to go for the first test (3 month window) and then a second round (for the the 6 month period.)Only then the results will be very much concclusive.

bro...first of all i would like to congratulate you on the negative test result.

you used the term 'public toilet'.

in our real world, we have a choice to use and pay for the public toilets when one has real nature calls. our hands are not twisted neither do we have knives pointed at us forcing us to use them. it is one's call to decide whether he wants to use the public or home toilets.

are you referring the girls in the trade and maybe ONS ladies as 'public toilets'? if you are, dont you think its derogating/degrading to use this term on them? especially now that you have tested negative and the world's weight is off your shoulders.

Oral even raw is still consider low risk. U tested till 4th mth is a very gd indication. Most countries test till 3 mth. Dun worry so much and enjoy the holidays.

Happy CNY brudders.

Re: All you need to know about HIV

after reading what you guys posted, I just have to say that once you decided to go for sex and can't stop this urge. You should be prepare for HIV even if you have protection with condoms. if you got bad luck and you got Aids, just have to face it and say to yourself. It's your own life, you created this shit and you deserve to face this shit.
